It depends on the work. Small fixes are usually charged by the hour. New builds and bigger features get a fixed price after we've talked about what you need.
No minimum hours, no monthly fees. You only pay for what gets done. I'll always give you a number before I start.
Small fixes: same day or next day. New features: a few days to a couple of weeks. Full builds: weeks to a few months, depending on the size.
I put work live as I finish it, so you can see progress along the way instead of waiting until the end.
Yes, often. If your last developer disappeared or left the site in a mess, I can pick it up. First I'll look at the code and tell you honestly how much work it needs.
Sometimes the best plan is to carry on with what's there. Sometimes a partial rebuild is quicker than fixing what's broken. I'll tell you which one before we start.
Most of my clients aren't developers. You don't need to know any technical terms. Just tell me what you want the site to do for your business and I'll handle the rest.
When something needs a decision from you, I'll explain it in plain English, no jargon. If something doesn't need a decision from you, I won't bother you with it.
That's fine. Most projects start with a rough idea and get clearer as we talk. Tell me the goal: what you want to happen, who it's for, and what you're trying to avoid. We can shape it from there.
A vague idea is better than no message at all.
Yes. Most sites I build, I also look after. Updates, security fixes, speed problems, hosting issues, and small new features when you need them.
No monthly fee. You message me when something needs doing, I do it, you pay for that work only. If your site breaks late on a Friday, I'm probably the one who'll fix it.
PHP and MySQL for the back end (the part you don't see). JavaScript, HTML, and CSS for the front end (the part you do). I write the code myself and only use bigger tools when a project really needs them.
The site runs on standard cPanel hosting. If you already use something different and have a small job, ask anyway. I'll tell you if I can help.
Happy to sign a standard NDA before we talk about anything private. For the work itself, I always put the scope, price, and timeline in writing before starting. Usually by email. For bigger jobs, a short contract.
I'm based in the United Kingdom. I work with clients in the UK and Europe mostly. You'll usually hear back from me within a day during the week.
Different time zones are normally fine. We can pick a time that works for both of us.
I'll tell you straight away. Either I'll suggest someone else who'd suit the job better, or I'll suggest a different way to solve the problem.
I'd rather say no than do a bad job.
