/about

About me.

I'm Romans, a full-stack developer based in the United Kingdom. I build and maintain web platforms for small businesses, founders, and teams who want code that works and a developer who replies.

Ten years in. Still writing code myself, still building things people actually use.

I started writing code over a decade ago and never really stopped. I work on every part of a website: the database and server side, plus everything you actually see and click on. I write the code myself and put it live on whatever hosting the project uses.

I work alone, by choice. No agency middlemen, no account managers, no layers between you and the person writing the code. You email me, I reply. You report a bug, I fix it. You want a feature, we talk through it and build it.

  • Direct communication. I won't quote you a higher number than the work needs. No surprises on the bill.
  • The smallest code that solves the problem. I'd rather write fewer lines that work than more lines that look impressive.
  • You see progress, not status reports. I put work live as I finish it. You can watch progress happen instead of just reading about it.
  • If something's risky, I tell you. Risks, hidden costs, things that might not work. You hear them before you commit, not after.
  • I stay reachable. During a project and after. If your site breaks at 9pm on a Friday, I'm probably the one who'll fix it.

I currently build and maintain six active web platforms across rentals, marketplaces, and listings. Day-to-day work covers new features, speeding things up, security updates, and the occasional full rebuild when an old site is past saving.

If you've got a platform that needs new life, or a new one that needs building from scratch, I've probably done something close to it.
